This year is the year of Dirty Smith Classes and Workshops! I have been invited to lead three events. Two in New York and one in Virginia. We have classes at Dragon Forge LTD as well and will send out a separate newsletter later this week with that schedule.

Virginia Institute of Blacksmithing
I have been invited to host a week long workshop at the Virginia Institute of Blacksmithing. We are set to forge a public bench for the Park and Rec department. This course will have a strong focus on traditional joinery and is an intermediate/advanced workshop. You will be working along other blacksmiths in a collaborative project forging a public bench designed by Rory that will push you, and your abilities, as we have a bunch of iron to squish in not very much time!

What: Forging a Public Bench using Traditional Joinery Techniques
Attend a 3 day class at the Rochester Arc + Flame Center. Build a solid foundation of skills in this introductory level course where you’ll take home anything you make to show off to family and friends. Great introduction to blacksmithing as we go over the basics, various techniques and get dirty!
When: June 15th – 17th, 2018

What: Intro to blacksmithing and the techniques of forging, twisting, scrolls, ect.
Attend a 3 day workshop at Jimmy Diresta’s new shop located in upstate NY. Jimmy and I are going over the details and will be updating this event as we develop it. It will be a great time with hot metal, anvils and a power hammer!
